Where (most of) the real learning happens - CollaborationSee after-meeting notes, with presentation archive. At many of our meetings you have heard that formal, course-based learning is just one (small) part of workplace learning. Most adult learning happens when we work and collaborate with others. This rich and exciting domain is one we will examine and explore--collaboratively and jointly with you who attend--at this meeting. We will hear from Macromedia about how their technology is being leveraged for collaboration. For one of the first times in public, Macromedia will also share some exciting new product news. Chris Hocke, product manager for the Flash Communication Server, will demonstrate innovative collaboration tools that have been created leveraging Macromedia technology, including virtual classroom tools used in Hong Kong during the SARS epidimic. Marcia Sitcoske joins us from Cisco to talk about online employee and customer communities, sharing the experiences Cisco has had with community tools during the last few years. You will also hear a presentation of case studies, "cool tools", and cutting edge technology that Sandeep Sood (DeepSun) and Alex Gault have discovered in some of their recent research and consulting work. Jerry Neece will talk about some of the interesting things on the collaboration front that he has discovered in recent work he has been doing focused on eLearning (broadly) at universities. But we also want to hear from as many of you as possible, about what you have seen and experienced on this front, both in terms of successes and failures (we can learn from both). One of the subjects we will be talking about is "collaboration's killer app", presence awareness - read Alex Gault's interesting views about PA.
